Arturo Morales, MA, AMFT

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

About Arturo

As a psychotherapist, my greatest reward comes from empowering individuals, couples, and adolescents to navigate life’s challenges and build resilience. For over two decades, I’ve dedicated myself to service, first as a Marine officer, then as an educator, and finally, as a therapist. Each experience has equipped me to better understand and support those seeking to overcome personal struggles.

My 24 years in the Marines instilled in me the values of discipline, leadership, and unwavering commitment. These qualities served me well during deployments and combat tours, forging resilience and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those who serve.

Leaving the military, I transitioned to education, fostering a love of learning in high school and middle school students. This experience provided invaluable insight into the pressures young people face in today’s world.

Today, I draw on this multifaceted background to create a comprehensive and compassionate approach to therapy. Whether you’re an individual struggling with anxiety or depression, a couple seeking to strengthen your relationship, or an adolescent navigating the complexities of teenage life, I offer a safe and supportive space for exploration and growth.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, allowing us to work together to develop personalized goals and strategies. I utilize evidence-based methods like CBT and mindfulness to help you build coping skills and emotional resilience. My style is warm, compassionate, and direct, prioritizing the creation of a trusting environment where you feel empowered to express yourself fully.

If you’re seeking a therapist who understands your unique challenges and is dedicated to supporting your well-being, I invite you to reach out for a free consultation. Together, we can explore the path forward and work towards a life filled with greater peace and fulfillment.

Juliet Christensen, LMFT

Juliet Christensen, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

About Juliet

As a compassionate and experienced psychotherapist, I have dedicated my career to supporting the growth and development of individuals, families, and couples. With over 15 years of experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my work with various issues, from international aid work and adoption to trauma recovery, teens and young adults, parenting, relationships, and personal growth and development.

My extensive counseling experience includes working with couples and families to build stronger relationships, improve communication, and navigate life’s challenges. I have been with my partner for over 30 years, and together, we have faced many of the same challenges that bring couples to therapy. This personal experience and my professional training have allowed me to develop relationship materials that offer effective and practical tools and exercises to enhance connection, resolve conflicts, and deepen intimacy.

One of my key areas of expertise is working within the LGBTQ community, providing affirming couples therapy, and working particularly with trans youth and their families. I provide essential counseling services to support these individuals as they navigate the unique challenges associated with gender identity and expression. My work in this area is deeply rooted in my commitment to inclusivity and involvement with various supportive organizations.

As a mother of 13 children, eight of whom I adopted internationally, I bring a unique perspective and depth of understanding to my work with teens and parenting. My personal experience as an adoptive parent informs my professional practice and allows me to relate deeply to the individuals and families I serve.

My international work has included collaborating with the government of Sierra Leone to develop their foster care program and train foster parents in culturally appropriate parenting methods, establishing orphan care facilities following Ebola, facilitating international adoption processes, and providing trauma counseling for victims of abuse and trafficking.

As a skills-based therapist, I use an integrated approach that draws on elements of CBT, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and strategic family therapy. I aim to empower my clients to develop the skills they need to thrive through life’s challenges.

In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am also a nationally licensed EMT and have extensive experience in crisis and trauma-related events. In my downtime, I enjoy Broadway shows, playing softball, discovering new restaurants, and dancing in the kitchen. I am currently accepting new clients and welcome the opportunity to support you on your journey.

Benoit Vincent, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

About Benoit

When an individual, a couple, or family members decide to share their life challenges, relational struggles, and suffering with a therapist, they seek to engage in a relationship to obtain some relief by making new meaning to their life experiences. During these interactions, we explore the workings of the minds both outside and inside the session and gain an experiential understanding of how we see ourselves and our patterns of relating to others, which opens new possibilities to experience life. My psychodynamic psychotherapy orientation is what informs me along this journey to self-understanding.

I have a California License in Marriage and Family Therapy and a certificate of Associate in Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I also trained in Core Skills of Emotionally Focused Therapy, an approach to working with couples to understand how partners can meet their needs better.

I have worked for Palomar Family Counseling Service for six years in clinical and school-based (elementary and middle school) settings with children and adolescents, couples, and families in person and via telehealth. I supported their efforts to enhance the quality of their lives by understanding what led them to experience painful states of mind and using solutions that add suffering instead of alleviating it. This therapeutic work contributes to personal development and transformation.

Before joining PFCS, I had experience with diverse cultures working in an international corporation where I interacted with teams in Mexico, Europe, and Asia.

I provide therapy services online.

I accept clients on a sliding fee scale and also accept Aetna, Blue Shield, Cigna (Evernorth), Medicare South, Scan Healthcare, Tricare West-9, Triwest-CCN Retired, and UnitedHealthcare Medicare.

To make an appointment, please contact 760-741-2660 or email [email protected].

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

About Raylyn

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I feel most accomplished with my work with students of all ages to overcome their social and emotional challenges. I have been the Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) provider for the Valley Center Pauma School District for the last 6 years. I am committed to working with children and adolescents in reaching their social and emotional goals and the challenges of having an IEP, learning disability, or mental health condition (ADHD, Autism Spectrum and Depression/Anxiety). With my ERMHSwork, I have gained experience and an appreciation working with the LGBTQIA+ community. I also have extensive knowledge serving in the military and being a child of a career marine. As a teen, I lived overseas and received an international school education due to my father being deployed. I  joined the Navy in 2003. These experiences have equipped me to understand the struggles of being a military spouse/child and understand the issues that arise from those who served.

While serving in the military, I was diagnosed with ADHD, something I had struggled with since a young child. The process of being diagnosed was fascinating and led me to transitioning into the mental health field after serving in the military. The combination of training and personal experience has allowed me to utilize a compassionate approach to therapy. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Behavioral Therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. I use collaboration and compassion to help create an open and trusting environment to allow a client to navigate and prioritize positive change. I enjoy being a mother of two wonderful children ages 13 and 16, reading, doing puzzles, and playing tennis with the kids. I am currently accepting new clients and welcome the opportunity to support you on your therapeutic goals.

I accept clients on a sliding fee scale and also accept Aetna, Blue Shield of CA, Cigna-Evernorth, TriCare West, TriWest, UHC Optum.

Sachiko Yamauchi Zhang, AMFT

Sachiko Yamauchi Zhang, AMFT

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist

About Sachiko

Sometimes, it feels like everything is going wrong. Problems come at us one after another, leaving us barely able to breathe. The worst part? We feel completely alone—no one notices or offers help. Our partners are upset, the kids bring home their own troubles, and our homes are filled with negativity. We hesitate to turn to friends or family, fearing criticism or disappointment, or simply, we just can’t. We find ourselves disconnected from those around us and even from ourselves. We want to make things right, but we’re unsure where to start.

As a marriage and family therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families. My culturally sensitive therapeutic approach integrates solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and the Gottman Method couple therapy. I help clients understand their challenges, organize their thoughts and emotions, simplify tasks, set goals, and develop the resilience to get back up when they stumble. Often, deeper struggles emerge in the stories clients tell themselves. I guide them through these past narratives with acceptance and closure, helping them shape a future that aligns more closely with their desires. I believe that an individual’s mental wellness is the foundation of healthy friendships and couple relationships, which in turn, fosters a healthy family dynamic.

I am also a certified child-centered play therapist. I use a client-centered approach rooted in attachment theory to help children aged 5 to 12 express themselves in a safe, supportive environment. Play, being a child’s natural language, engages multiple senses and allows them to explore their emotions and practice building relationships. Play therapy provides a developmentally appropriate way for children to communicate, connect, and experience a miniature version of the real world, especially when they’re not yet ready for the abstract thinking required in talk therapy. I also offer support to caregivers, recognizing how their own childhood experiences can influence their parenting, and I’m here to support them every step of the way.

I was born and raised in Japan and moved to the United States as a college student. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by immigrants and international students, I am committed to providing culturally sensitive mental health support tailored to their unique experiences.

I am proud to be part of a compassionate team of therapists with extensive experience across various specialties. I’ve had the privilege of training under one of the nation’s leading play therapists, which has deepened my commitment to continually seeking and developing innovative approaches to enhance clients’ mental wellness. My goal is to empower individuals, couples, families, and children to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
